To be honest, New York JFK actually was and is a very nice airport. I really miss the good ol Pan Am terminal. It was the best.

thanks so much for preserving history, i arrived at this terminal for my very first trip to the USA back in 2005. Have visited often since. Thanks from Europe.

They should have just clean up the mess in the saucer building to look more like when it opened (add a small bar and museum gallery in the stone rose/burger king area), add carpeting everywhere as the tiles look a bit dated, decorate the ceiling so it looks nicer(add some patterns, lines, ect), decorate the wall separating the landside and airside part of the terminal (murals, art, or revert it to the original mirror when Pan Am used it) and done, it will look like new.

R.I.P Terminal 3: 1955 To 2013. Next they will demolish terminal 7, then terminal 2

Last year, I flew the American 777-200ER from Miami to Chicago and even though it had a new cabin it reminded me of these old 767s a little

My fathers old warehouse used to be in the Doral Miami at NW 13th ST Doral Fl 33172 and I would see the planes land close to us and it was amazing such a nice view to see them land and beleive it or not I used to see the ATR's land allot through there as well. One of the reasons I fell in love with aviation. Long time ago.

Golly no wonder they tore it down. The old main terminal at Dar es Salaam Tanzania looks better than the old Pan Am temple.

Why was the safety demonstration done manually and not the Virgin America safety dance video?

It is a shame that the state and the government did not interfere in preventing the demolition of such a great and iconic structure. Its significance and importance is equivalent to the Twin Towers, The Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty. This structure was so iconic and representative of an important page of the airline industry that it should have been preserved and protected forever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! because its architectural design was so unique.
